Erosion is the process of sediment being picked up and carried. For example a river picks up sediment and the sediment flows with the water. Deposition is when sediment is dropped or deposited in a different place. Once a river slows down it drops its sediment it had picked up and deposits it. Erosion and deposition work together to erode and shape our land. In a billion years from now earth could have completely different landforms, all the landforms we see today could eventually be gone.
